Parents are children's first and most important teachers. This means that working in partnership with parents and carers is essential if I am to plan effectively for a child's learning and development.
As your child grows and develops, things will pop up that are very important for us to discuss, in order that we can work together and your wishes are followed. These could include weaning, potty training, managing behaviour, starting Nursery or School, etc.
I welcome parents’ suggestions and where possible will do my best to incorporate them. I try to meet parents’ requests for the care of their children according to their values and practices, preferences and attitudes.
Understanding your child's daily routine is essential, I use a number of methods to ensure that as a parent, you are always kept up to date with your child's activities, their progress and general development.
I would appreciate it if parents could inform me of any changes in the child’s home circumstances, care arrangements or any other changes which may affect the child’s behaviour. All information will always be kept confidential.
I offer regular parents' evenings to discuss your child’s care and any issues or concerns, preferably when the child is not present. I work together with parents to make sure that the care of their child is consistent.
Continuity of care and a consistent approach benefits the child’s welfare and helps ensure the child is happy and settled.
